“Helping Young Men in Tampa Achieve Their Dreams.”
To our Donors,
The Tampa Alumni Guide Right Foundation and the Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hope you all are well during these unprecedented times.
For more than 90 years, the Tampa Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi has been a mainstay living, working, serving and leading the Tampa Bay community in every form of human endeavor. Through our Kappa League program, as well as with your help, Kappa Alpha Psi has groomed the future leaders of our community.
Tampa Alumni Guide Right Foundation
Our Foundation is designed to assist the KL Development League by locating funding sources to underwrite activities for youth skill development.
Our goal is to provide financial support to our Guide Right mentees, in the following program areas: social, academic, and health awareness.
All members of the Foundation are volunteers, so we rely on individual, corporate and other Foundations’ support to remain a vital and relevant part of the community.
The National Service Program Guide Right is a program for the educational and occupational guidance of youth, primarily inspirational and informational in character. Its reach extends to high schools and colleges alike. In the latter, giving due attention to the needs of undergraduate Brothers. Conceived in 1922 by Leon W. Stewart, and suggested at the Twelfth Grand Chapter Meeting of Kappa Alpha Psi, Guide Right became the fraternity’s national service program. Jesse Jerome Peters, later to become the eighth Grand Polemarch, was chairman of the committee, during the administration of W. Ellis Stewart as Grand Polemarch. That insured adoption of the Program as the Fraternity’s National Service Project.
The purposes of the Guide Right Service Program are to place the training, experience, and interest of successful men, at the disposal of youth needing inspiration and counsel regarding their choice of a career. We also make the community aware of the problems that may encounter as they seek to realize lives of usefulness.
Guide Right encompasses many of our youth oriented programs such as mentoring; college preparatory programs; and tutoring. However, the Flagship Initiative of the Guide Right Service Program is the Kappa Leadership Development League.
